Last Saturday, 2/27 was a big day for us here at YORK Athletics. We officially kicked off, and revealed YORK Athletics to the world. To celebrate, we threw an awesome launch party with our friends, and global retail partner, Bodega in our hometown of Boston. We wanted to do more than just throw a rager though, so we decided to have an art auction to benefit the Somerville Boxing Club.
The Somerville Boxing Club provides free youth programs to neighborhood kids to help keep them out of trouble. We gathered ten artists from across the U.S and had them put their own spin on some speed bags, and we auctioned them off throughout the night. Over the course of the evening we were able to raise nearly $1000.00 for them! Big thanks to our sponsors Notch Brewery, Billy Boy Distillers, Mei Mei, and high fives to everyone who made it out.
