DIY Men’s Summer Tank
- Pin Shoulder Seams Together
- One at neckline and one at the end close to sleeve cap
- Pull one sleeve into the other sleeve
- Note: You will have to smooth out fabric and pin, actual stitch lines may not match up perfectly
- Pin Side Seams Together
- One at the under arm and one at the body hem
- Note: You will have to smooth out fabric and pin, actual stitch lines may not match up perfectly
- Marking Cut Line for the Front Armhole
- Guide 1: Pin 1” away from sleeve towards neckline
- Guide 2: Find midpoint of armhole and measure 1 ¼” away from sleeve towards neckline
- Create curve to underarm about ¼” below actual stitch line
- Marking Cut Line for the Back Armhole
- Guide 1: Pin 1” away from sleeve towards neckline
- Guide 2: Find midpoint of armhole and measure 3/4”away from sleeve towards neckline
- Create curve to underarm about ¼” below actual stitch line
- Note: The back armhole will be slightly straighter than the front
- Cut!
- Cut about 1/8” from pins giving the pins some space
- You’ll need this space to clean up any jagged edges after laying flat
- Cutting Armhole
- Make sure that you’re only cutting one side at a time
- Start at sleeve underarm working your way towards the front neckline (*if you’re left handed cut the opposite way towards the back)
