The Frank wins 2022 SELF Sneaker Award
It’s great day here at YORK Athletics! We’re thrilled to announce that the Frank has been named the Best Versatile Gym Shoe by SELF Magazine for their 2022 Sneaker Awards.
What are the SELF Sneaker Awards?
This year, the SELF team picked their 30 favorite sneakers across a variety of categories from more than 135 sneakers considered. The SELF team selected recipients based on wear and use, along with help from physical therapists and exercise scientists.
It’s an honor to receive this accolade and be awarded as a recipient alongside so many other contenders in the footwear industry. We love hearing from our community and appreciate all the kinds words about our kicks!

What is the Frank?
Named after the paternal grandfather, Frank York, the Frank trainer embodies the same values he instilled in the family: putting in hard work and the power of love with a fighting spirit. As a boxer, the Frank was designed to be lightweight while still providing the stability for the toughest workout, and clean look that can easily transition from the gym to the office and all of the everyday life in between.
